The 83rd Journées de la Société Française de Phlébologie will take place on 27–28 November 2025 at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris, bringing together clinicians, researchers and industry partners for one of Europe’s most established annual meetings dedicated to venous and lymphatic disease. This year’s programme is set to offer a well-balanced mix of scientific updates, practical discussions and clinical perspectives, reflecting the Society’s ongoing commitment to advancing everyday phlebology practice.

The congress will focus on contemporary themes shaping venous care, including developments in endovenous procedures, evolving approaches to foam sclerotherapy, and the wider role of diagnostics and imaging in treatment decision-making. The schedule also incorporates sessions designed around open debate and clinical dialogue, enabling participants to explore differing viewpoints and examine how emerging evidence translates into patient pathways. A strong educational element remains central to the meeting, with opportunities for attendees to refine skills, review case experiences and engage with colleagues across multiple regions.

A notable topic gaining increased attention this year is the expanding role of High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) in the treatment of varicose veins. As non-thermal, non-invasive technologies evolve, HIFU continues to position itself as a promising alternative for selected patients, particularly those seeking intervention without catheterisation or tumescent anaesthesia. Its presence in the programme highlights growing clinical interest, ongoing global adoption and a wider shift towards innovative, incision-free approaches within modern venous practice.

Alongside the scientific sessions, this year’s meeting is expected to emphasise practical translation of knowledge into daily clinical settings. With contributions addressing workflow optimisation, treatment selection, follow-up strategies and evolving patient expectations, the congress provides a chance for practitioners to align their practice with broader European trends while sharing experiences from their own service environments.

In addition to the scientific content, the event will host a dedicated exhibition area, where industry partners will present new technologies, devices and service innovations. This interface between clinical experience and technological progress continues to be a defining characteristic of the SFP meeting, supporting those who wish to stay informed about current trends within the venous care landscape.

At Phlebology News, our goal is to provide clear and informative updates for clinicians and professionals across venous care. We will continue to share concise overviews of key meetings, emerging research and developments in practice to support the wider phlebology community.
